Happy @ Home
This service has been running in Northampton since 2018 and is funded by the National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund. We help lonely people to reconnect with their local community, make friends, have fun and access support.
Northampton Community Transport
Northampton Community Transport runs two schemes, Northampton Door-to-Door Service which transports people to shopping and social activities, and Northampton Volunteer Car Scheme which focuses on medical and wellbeing appointments.
Northampton Door-to-Door Service
This service launched in 1997 to provide transport for residents in the borough of Northampton who cannot access public transport, be it through impaired mobility or reason of disability. Our service enables otherwise housebound residents to enjoy freedom and independence in their daily lives.
Northampton Volunteer Car Scheme
NVCS provides community transport for elderly and disabled people, living in Northampton (between postcodes NN1 – NN5). We enable registered passengers to get about with ease, convenience and peace of mind, allowing them to maintain their independence for longer and helping to prevent social isolation.
Volunteers for Health
Volunteers for Health (VfH) Northants is a pioneering programme funded by NHS England, NHS Charities Together and CW+, and led by Voluntary Impact Northamptonshire. Running until June 2027, this initiative aims to embed innovative and sustainable volunteering models into the health and care system across Northamptonshire.
Experts by Experience
We are working with West Northamptonshire Council to support residents to get involved in shaping and improving adult social care services in the region. This work is called co-production, and it means making decisions together.
